October Wrap Up

I managed to read a total of 6 books during the month of October. 4 of which were e-books and shorter, then a normal sized novel and then ending with a beast.

I fairly enjoyed all of the books, some, obviously more than other, but overall a nice reading month.

This was a trilogy I downloaded for free on iBooks so I knew what I was getting and it didn’t surprise or disappoint me. I enjoyed this trilogy with the “classic” get-involved-with-a-hot-billionaire-to-save-his-company story.

This was also a book I got for free in iBooks, but this one surprised me in the positive way – I really enjoyed it, although the “big drama” was a bit disappointing, but other than that, the story was engaging and interesting and the characters truly likeble.

Carrie Hope Fletcher is amazing at practically anything she does – acting, singing, Youtube and also books. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and you can tell she put a lot of soul and care into it, as it deals with her own main line of work – theatre acting. I was engrossed in the story, I enjoyed the characters (both old and young) and it was fun to read about the behind the scenes of theatre work, knowing she’s drawn inspiration from her own life.

The epic conclusion to a fantastic fantasy trilogy that I have fallen in love with. It was a long book to get through and I think it could have been a bit shorter. The big battle at the end I felt was a bit, meh. All this leading up to it and it was over rather quickly. But despite all that, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I love the whole trilogy. And now I need to get my hands on Dance of Thieves!

  1. My October has been a rather slow month for reading. I’ve started a lot of books but actually only finished a few. One of which was Hot Mess by Lucy Vine, which I didn’t really enjoy despite how funny it occasionally was.

I also finished Hader, hader ikke by Glenn Ringtved, and I really liked it! It’s a quirky story, which also rings so true! And I really love the idea of “billednoveller” (picture novellas?) as concept.

And then I finished Dragon Ball #2. I’ve never read this series before and it just seems so stupid and funny and so exaggerated!

Moreover, I started Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by J.K. Rowling, which is a reread for me although it is the first time I read it in English.

I’ve also started Wild by Cheryl Strayed, which is absolutely amazing! Withing the first fifty pages or so I had to take a couple of breaks because it was so real and honest and brutal. Yet it turned out to be a really funny and beautiful story as well. I still have a little more than 100 pages left, but I am so fond of it!

I hope to finish both of these soon.
