20 Questions Book Tag

Surprise – this is not a review!!

I was tagged by darling Inkedbybooks ♥ to do the 20 Questions Book Tag and I had to do it – because it’ll be nice with some non-review content up in this place. I need more of that.

So here goes:

1: How many books is too many books in a series?

This is difficult to answer because I’ve read book series that had 15 books in them. It comes down to the storyline and how long you can take it without dragging it along. But I think that 15 is near the limit – unless the storyline has enough quality juice to continue.
But 4-5 is usually great without completely overdoing it.

2: How do you feel about cliffhangers?

I live for them!

3: Hardback or paperback?

Paperback for reading, hardback for collecting.

4: Favourite book?

Probably the most difficult question known to any booknerds. If we look at those I’ve reread the most it’s a toss up between The Hunger Games, Alanna The First Adventure OR Emperor Mage by Tamora Pierce or Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
I cannot pick just one.

5: Least favourite book?

The least favourite book I’ve read is to this day, Gabriel’s Inferno by Sylvain Reynard. I did not get that book at all.

6: Love triangles, yes or no?

I am prone to writing them myself, so if done properly, yes.

7: The most recent book you just couldn’t finish?

I think that’ll be Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch. I haven’t given up on it though.

8: A book you’re currently reading?

I have just started Beautiful Broken Things by Sara Barnard.

9: Last book you recommended to someone?

Our Chemical Hearts by Krystal Sutherland.

10: Oldest book you’ve read?

It was probably one from back in school. All I can think of now is “Ved Vejen” (As Trains Pass By) by the Danish author, Herman Bang, from 1886. I may have read something older, but I can’t recall it right now.

11: Newest book you’ve read?

Ravnenes hvisken 3 (Whispers of Ravens) that came out in September 2018.

12: Favourite author:

Again, I can’t decide so it’s a tie between J.K. Rowling and Tamora Pierce.

13: Buying books or borrowing books?

Buying. I’ve occasionally borrowed Danish books if I was unsure whether or not to spend money on them.

14: A book you dislike that everyone seems to like?

I wasn’t a fan of The Night Circus, which a lot of people seem to LOVE.

15: Bookmarks or Dogears?

Why is this even a question? Bookmarks! Otherwise I don’t know you.

16: A book you can always reread?

Any Tortall book by Tamora Pierce.

17: Can you read whilst hearing music?

Yes, though with low volume and no upbeat tracks.

18: One POV or multiple POVS?

Depends on genre. For contemporary it’s fine with just one, but Fantasy can often be interesting with multiple.

19: Do you read a book in one sitting or over multiple days?

Depends on the size of the book and how into it I am. I’ve read several books in one sitting, but usually I spread it out over a few days as I don’t have the time to just power through it.

20: One book you read because of the cover?

I almost never read a book just because of the cover. I always read the blurb etc. first, but I have bought a book because it was beautiful, but I haven’t actually gotten around to reading it yet..
But it’s In Dark Service by Stephen Hunt.

in dark serviceI mean, look at this beauty!

So that’s the end of the 20 questions book tag.

I guess I have to tag some people now. I don’t even know how this sort of tagging works, so here goes nothing.

@Fantasticbooks

@teastainsandbookspines

If you don’t want to or have already done this tag, that’s all good 🙂
